Northern Lites is a women-centered hockey organization open to adult players of all experience levels.

Our primary focus is providing opportunities for women to play hockey. Select sessions may also include approved D.R.A.G. (Designated Roster – Approved Guys) skaters who have been invited by Northern Lites leadership to support player development while helping maintain a safe, respectful, and women-focused environment.

Our regular skates and practices take place throughout the hockey season, with additional games, tournaments, and special events held across Michigan, Wisconsin, and neighboring states. While we proudly represent Michigan's Upper Peninsula wherever we travel, our home rink remains the heart of our community.

Weekly Practices

Practices feature a brief skill session followed by extended scrimmage play, allowing players to immediately apply new techniques in a game setting.

Drop-In Hockey

Opportunities for players to get additional ice time, meet new teammates, and enjoy the game in a welcoming atmosphere.

Tournament Teams

Northern Lites fields teams for tournaments throughout the region, providing players with opportunities to compete while representing the Upper Peninsula.

Learn-to-Play & Community Events

Throughout the year, we host events that introduce new players to hockey, encourage women to give the sport a try, and help grow the local hockey community.
